"Genesis Kids"
“The beginning of a lifelong journey of faith and learning”

The mission of the Pikeville United Methodist Church Nursery School is to provide a preschool education program that focuses on skills necessary to become life long learners and to provide a Christian environment where all children are encouraged to develop appropriate social, academic, and behavioral skills.

The preschool program at the Pikeville United Methodist Church is one of the oldest in Pike County. The staff of the Pikeville United Methodist Church Nursery School has over 40 years of combined experience in the field of education.

Classes are 4 days a week: Monday - Thursday from 8:30a.m. – 12:00 noon

The Preschool Class meets in room 27 of the Education Building.

The daily schedule is set up to meet the developmental needs of the preschool students we serve. Students have the opportunity to work in a large group, perform small group tasks, and complete individual activities. Included in the schedule each week is a 30-minute music class. There are also opportunities in the day for children to enjoy a snack and playtime. The curriculum, teaching strategies, and daily schedule reflect current best practice in the field of Preschool Education.

The guidelines for the Nursery School require that children be 3 years of age on or before January 1st of the year they are enrolled.
